Under 19 champion St. Andrew high

Head to head once again at the Under 19 Hockey League at the Mona Hockey Turf were the Papine High School and the St. Andrew High School For Girls. The defending champions for 2007 Papine High was at the top of their game. In the first half, within the first fifteen minutes of the game, number 21 Racine Johnson of the St. Andrew team gave an exceptional hit which was assisted by a gentle push from number 18 Kysha Maitland who scored the first goal of the match.

In the second half of the match the adrenaline of both the players and supporters from both teams began to rush from the numerous attempts that were made towards each goal by the respective teams. It then became a battle of the cheers between the two teams' supporters. However, St. Andrew kept Papine on their toes by blocking each attempt with their strong defense in order to keep their numerical superiority. This worked out in their favor as St.Andrew High School For Girls are now the new reigning champions for 2008.

After the match a small awards ceremony was held, where the champions, the runner-ups (Papine) and the second runner-ups (Alpha) received medals for their positions in the league. The Most Valuable player for the league was Racine Johnson from St. Andrew High and the leading goal scorer was Tashana Edwards from Papine. Special recognition goes to three players from each of the team. From St. Andrew High School these are: Demi Nicholson, Michelle Thomas and Stephanie Tanner who read the situation of the game, saw the solution and executed it exceptionally well. Commendations are due also to Tashana Edwards, Esther Foreshaw and Trudy Knight of Papine High who gave St. Andrew a run for their money with their magnificent skills.
