The 2008 JHF U-19 School Boys Hockey Finals for boys was a well-anticipated affair, as Wolmer's Boys' School looked to redeem themselves from the 1-0 loss, which they suffered the previous year, to the same opponents, Munro College. However, Munro was not about to let go of the trophy so easy. With this history between the two teams the stageWolmers under 19 silver medalist team was set for a brilliant evening of hockey.

The two teams came out hungry, as they exchanged possession early in the first half, each team zealous to make use of their opportunities. The superior skill and vast experience of the Munro team was seen very early as they repeatedly attacked the Wolmer's goal, but to no avail. While Munro outclassed their opponents with their skillful stick work, it was Wolmer's who ended the first half on a high, as they pressured the Munro goal and consequently were presented with numerous goal scoring chances, which included three consecutive short corner's, none of which they converted. After the break, the match was totally dominated by the guys from St. Elizabeth. They moved the ball effectively around the Wolmerians, who couldn't cope with the skill of the Munro players. One such player was Oshane Hasley. He completely ran riots around the Wolmer's defence and single handedly put the trophy into the bag when he effected a brilliant hit from a short corner which blew past the Wolmer's custodian, Ikem Smith. With a one goal lead, Hasley began to really stomp his authority as he humiliated the Wolmerians, with his exquisite stick work.

Bronze medalist PapineWhen the final whistle came, it seemed like déjà vu , as the out come was the same as the previous year. On the day Munro College were champions, walking away with their third consecutive title. However, there were smiles all around at the closing ceremony as the three teams: Papine High, Wolmer's Boys' and Munro College received their medals. Oshane Hasley, as expected, walked away with the most valuable player award while Selbin Rose also of Munro was named leading goal scorer. At the end of the day, the match did live up to expectation, but once again history did repeat itself.
