The remarkable opening ceremony on the 17, October had Jamaica pumped up for the crucial encounter against the # 1 rank Team Argentina. The adrenaline rush was eminent in each player, but was short lived as it gave way to the skill and expertise of the Argentinians. The first goal was scored in the third minute by the South Americans from a penalty corner that was drag flicked into the top left corner of the Jamaican net. This action was repeated many times and Argentina received 12 goals in the same manner.

At the half time the score was 6-0 Argentina and the Jamaican team was tired and crest fallen.

At the start of the second half the Jamaican came back out with a fire in their eyes. This time they held the Argentinians for 12 minutes before the seventh goal scored. Although the score was getting larger, the Jamaicans decided that they would still fight till the end. But the future was yet to be told. Jamaica plays Argentina

The plague of jet log, fatigue and dehydration was yet to come.
The Jamaican final seem like they can hold the Argentinians at seven goal. Then disaster struck the team like the dreadful earthquake of Port Royal. The defense line crumbled as injures rocked the hard working backline. This started when Jerome Carty fell to this plague with a severe calf injure, and was taken off for the rest of the game (this happen with 24 minutes to go.)

By the end of the fifteenth minute all the defense line was on the bench in severe pain. Fabian the captain got hit in his ankle with a hockey stick plus he had a muscle contraction. Muscle contraction also affected Duvaughn "DD" Henlon, Oshane Walker and Lorenzo "Phil" Burke. This left the bench with only injured players. With all the defenders injured we had to depend on our strikers and midfielders to defend until DD and Phil got rid of their contracts and could play again. With only two of the rightful defender able to play, the score began to get emphatic. But with the keeper, the two defenders and the midfielders the Jamaicans were able to hold the Argentinians to 15-0 score line two better the previous encounter. But to top it off the keeper due to over work, his chest contracted and the doctor who saw him advise the coaching staff to take him out of the goal until he could diagnose what really happened to him.

On day two of the tournament the Jamaicans geared up for game two of the tournament Jamaica against USA. The game ended 7-0. But this time the Jamaicans lacked focus. Credits have to be given to Niijon Sanford the second keeper saving a number of shots on goal and Jerome Carty who play a well fought game. But well played game by the Jamaicans.
