Development Coaching Seminar

As part of the thrust to expand the game of hockey in the island, the Jamaica hockey Federation has, with the assistance of the Pan American Hockey Federation (PAHF) , secured the services of Dutch Developmental Coach Erwin Maarhuis to conduct a coaching seminar in the coming week.

This will be a series of seminars designed for coaches of youngsters, hence coaches of prep and primary schools, high schools and also prospective club coaches. Sessions will also be held for the student coaches of the G. C. Foster College.

The seminars will focus on methods to introduce the sport to youngsters and how to teach the basic skills using exciting and creative games. Current coaches will also be introduced to best practices for drill and practice for the U14 age group. Sessions will also focus on introducing the 3-aside competitive hockey game.
